Martlets Fall in Extras to Taft
On a warm Thursday afternoon, the Martlets welcomed Taft to Osborn Field. After giving up a run in the first, the Martlets rebounded with 3 in the second. Taft would answer and go up 6-3 before Westy put up 4 of their own to take a 7-6 lead into the 6th inning. Easton Masse '25 came on in relief and retired the Rhinos in order in the 6th. The Martlets would add an insurance run in the bottom of the 6th with a steal from Alex Mihailovich '25 and a single from Stephen Hamadeh '25. However, a flurry of errors and miscues in the 7th would lead to Taft tying the game. The Rhinos went ahead 9-8 in the 8th and Westminster left a man stranded on second to end the game.
These two teams play again Saturday at Taft.
